"The photos were taken from the Kendrick Peak Lookout on the Coconino National Forest which is near Flagstaff, Arizona. I called the smoke in as a small "start" after a really hot lightning storm went through.
The time sequence of the photos is about four hours, and, scary and sad, a 20-member ground crew had to deploy shelters and one man was burned badly. This was in 1996." Jackie Johnson Maughan
